Consent Pro

Overview

Consent Pro helps manage cookie choices within PrestaShop. Visitors can accept, reject or customize optional categories and reopen settings later. Store owners can edit texts, assign selected scripts to categories, link a policy page and use Consent Mode v2 signals and optional consent history. KILJANO is built by software creators, entrepreneurs and merchants who run their own online shops, shaping practical tools for everyday ecommerce work.

A clear panel for visitor cookie choices

Consent Pro uses four categories: Necessary, Preferences, Analytics and Marketing. Necessary remains active, while the three optional categories start off. Visitors can accept all optional categories, reject them or make a custom selection. Their choice is remembered and the panel can be reopened later to change it.

Edit the banner text, category names and descriptions for each active store language. Adjust panel, button and text colors to fit your storefront. The shop chooses its own wording rather than inheriting KILJANO-specific policies or language settings.

Manage which optional scripts can run

Assign a script to Preferences, Analytics or Marketing using its exact script URL or HTML ID. Consent Pro converts matching executable script elements in the initial server HTML into inactive placeholders. After permission is granted, assigned scripts load in document order; saving an unchanged choice does not re-execute a placeholder.

Integrations can also mark optional scripts explicitly as inactive, including dynamically inserted placeholders. The module controls scripts that match a configured rule or are explicitly marked; other integrations need separate setup. JSON-LD data remains intact. Consent Mode v2 supplies default and updated signals for existing tags, but Consent Pro does not install Google tracking services or accounts.

Changing choices and optional consent history

Visitors can reopen cookie settings and change their selection. Withdrawing consent clears configured accessible first-party cookies associated with the withdrawn categories and reloads the page so assigned scripts remain inactive. Session and cart cookies are protected. The remembered-choice period can be set from 1 to 180 days.

Optional history records the date, selected categories, action and category-configuration version, without customer names or email addresses. Choose a retention window of 7 to 90 days. Old records are cleaned during consent operations and history views, without a scheduled background task. History can remain switched off.

Set up from the PrestaShop administration area

On a fresh installation the panel and history start disabled. Select one shop, choose an active native CMS policy page, edit the visitor-facing text and enable the panel. Assign optional script rules, keep dependent tags in order and check how they behave on your storefront. Changing category text or script assignments prompts visitors to choose again.

Settings and history are scoped to the selected shop, with separate employee permissions for viewing and editing. KILJANO combines software development with real experience operating online stores. Consent Pro puts practical configuration tasks together: category labels, policy linking, script assignments and visitors' choices.

Frequently asked questions

Can visitors reject optional cookies?

Yes. Visitors can accept, reject or customize the three optional categories. Necessary cookies remain active and choices can be changed later.

How do I set up the panel after installation?

Select a shop and an existing policy page, set the choice retention period, edit labels for active languages and enable the panel. Panel and history both start disabled.

Does Consent Pro automatically stop every tracking script?

It defers scripts matched by an exact URL or HTML ID in the initial HTML and explicitly marked optional scripts. Unmarked scripts dynamically injected by other integrations need their own configuration.

What is recorded, and how does Consent Mode v2 work?

Optional history contains the date, category selection, action and settings revision, not customer names or emails. When enabled, Consent Mode v2 sends default and update signals; the module does not itself install analytics or advertising tags.

Which PrestaShop and PHP versions are supported?

PrestaShop 8.2.8 with PHP 7.4, 8.0 and 8.1, and PrestaShop 9.2.0 with PHP 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5.
